Travel insurance

We strongly encourage you to take out comprehensive international travel insurance, if you do not already have a policy. When organising travel insurance, ensure you are covered for general medical expenses, existing medical conditions, hospitalisations and medical evacuations. If you plan on participating in sports such as scuba diving or parasailing, ensure your policy covers these activities. International travel insurance is also required on Australian coastal cruises, as your cruise is outside the scope of Australian Medicare and the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). All consultations, treatments and medications are charged at private rates. Please cotact Aussiecruising.com for information on travel insurance or follow the travel insurance links on this site.

Passports and visas

All passengers are required to have a valid passport for a cruise with an overseas (international) destination, including passengers under the age of 18 years. For all Australian coastal cruises featuring Willis Island (W831, W915, W920, W922 and W930), passports are the preferred form of identification; however, Customs have advised that a valid photo Drivers Licence will be accepted. For children 12 years and under travelling on coastal cruises, a current Medicare card with the child’s name will be sufficient identification.

There are many regulations that apply to differing nationalities and South Pacific countries. You should check with the relevant embassies about your visa requirements. Please note travel on your cruise will not revalidate an Australian re-entry visa. Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the date of the cruise return.
