Apia is a sprawling urban area with many villages in Samoa. Whilst financial constraints restrict development it has it's charm and the people are like all samoans: Full of hospitality and rather large.
The pleasant beach road is the main stretch for shops, restaurants and hotels. Beach Road follows the harbour wall with its wide promenade.
Accommodation exists in all price ranges. It's small enough to walk around in the heat, but if you don't like swetting, taxis are cheap.
